Contraception
We can give advice on all methods of contraception at the Health Centre. We can provide depo-provera (the jag), combined pill and mini-pill.
If you decide you would like an implant (rod) fitted, we run a monthly clinic for insertion/removal of implants. If you have not had an implant before, please make an appointment with Dr Gail Wilkie or Dr Fiona Watt to discuss this first.
(We currently do not have a clinician who fits coils (IUD/IUS/Mirena), so if this is your preferred method, please contact family planning services as below.)

Seasonal Flu Vaccination
In accordance with the Department of Health guidelines, we recommend vaccination for patients with diabetes, chronic heart, lung or kidney disease and residents of nursing and rest homes; all pregnant women; patients with significant obesity (BMI of 40 or more); and all patients over 65.
The flu vaccine is offered to all children in Scotland aged 2–5 years (and not yet in school) at their GP practice (children must be aged 2 years or above on 1 September 2019 to be eligible), as well as children aged from 6 months onward with chronic conditions.
It is also offered to all primary school children at school. (Eligible children are given the vaccine by nasal spray if aged 2 to 18 years, and by injection if ages 6 months to 2 years.)
For full details, see here.
Vaccination is available in the Autumn. Please contact the reception desk at that time for further details.
We run open access drop-in “ flu days” in Stewarton and Dunlop in October each year. If you were unable to attend then, or are housebound, contact Reception. We will be running other Flu Clinics at a later date.
(If you are pregnant, please note you will receive your flu vaccine from your midwife.)
Housebound patients will be vaccinated by our District Nursing team. Contact Reception.
(Please contact reception if you have changed your phone number and not informed us- including your mobile number)
