Asthma
If you have Asthma you should have a review annually. This will ensure your condition is being controlled optimally and enable you to discuss any difficulties you are having.
For an asthma review please make a double appointment in any of the general Practice Nurse clinics. You will be contacted by the practice when your follow- up is due.

Health Visitors can provide health promotion, support and advice to all members of the community e.g. elderly, vulnerable families, new parents.
The referral system is open – just phone us directly.
Health Visitors are registered Nurses with the additional specialist qualifications of BSc specialist public health nursing.
All families with children under 5 have a named Health Visitor.
Clinics
Childhood Immunisations – Thursday all day
Child Health Surveillance – Health Visitor performs developmental checks at home between age 11 days until school. Dr Costley performs the developmental medical between 6 & 8 weeks in the Health Centre.

Blood Pressure
Our hypertension clinic is run by Sister Ritchie.
Cervical Screening
The cervical screening test (smear test) is designed to check your cevix for the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Cervical screening can stop cervical cancer before it starts. In Scotland, cervical screening is offered to anyone with a cervix between the ages of 25 and 64 every five years.

Chronic Kidney Disease
The follow up arrangements for those with chronic kidney disease are managed by Sister Hall. You will be reviewed at least annually in a general clinic and you will be contacted when you are due to attend.
Continence
Urinary Continence problems are very common – “Don’t Suffer in Silence”
This service is no longer available with our District Nurse, if you have any concerns please make a routine appointment to discuss with your GP.
Diabetes
Sister Lynch runs our diabetic clinic:

The practice will contact you when your review is due.
Disease Modifying Drugs
If you think that you need blood monitoring and this is not currently being carried out, please contact us.
If you are receiving disease modifying drugs for an autoimmune condition and need blood monitoring, you will be contacted by the practice to arrange this.
Epilepsy
We recommend that you have an epilepsy review once a year to discuss your control, medication and any other issues relating to your epilepsy which you feel are pertinent. Please make an appointment with one of our Practice Nurses in a general clinic.You will be contacted by the practice when your follow up is due.
Ischaemic Heart Disease
You will be reviewed annually. If the frequency of your angina attacks increase you should make an appointment to see a GP. If you have chest pains lasting longer than 15 minutes, which are not relieved by your GTN spray/tablets (if available) call 999 immediately.
The ischaemic heart disease clinic runs on a Wednesday from 9am till 12.30 am or you can make a double appointment with Sister Hall in any general clinic. You will be contacted by the practice when your appointment is due.
Stroke
If you have had a stroke or a TIA ( mini stroke), you will be contacted to attend for follow-up.

Warfarin
We run a warfarin clinic in the practice on a Friday as an alternative to travelling to the anticoagulant clinic at Crosshouse hospital.
